jimmsvfletch0042Marcus Smith’s hat-trick and a double from Chris Roach kept Hooley Bridge Celtic 2nds push for league glory alive at Heywood Leisure Centre on Saturday.

They hammered Fletcher Moss 7-0 in a game that was reduced to a stroll after the visiting side’s aggressive midfielder was shown two yellows in 30 seconds after criticising the referee’s decision. He then proceeded to threaten to ‘smash your face in’ to the referee as he walked off the pitch.

Roach had put Hooley ahead by the stage and from then on it was a walk in the park.

The other goals came from Marc Hilton and Andy Nuttall.

The result leaves the seconds second in Division A of the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur League, but they need a miracle as this Fletcher Moss side must now beat Cheadle Hulme Villa Reserves to give Hooley a chance of snatching the title.
