Poor Celtic Reserves Go Down At Home To Valiant

A rogue dog caused a halt to play – and a popped ball

Hooley Bridge Celtic seconds put in a dreadful performance at home to Manchester Valiant 1st XI.

The gulf between the two sides was evident, although at 1-0 down at the break Celtic were still in with a chance at Heywood Leisure Centre.

But it looked as though none of the team had played with each other and they were totally outplayed by a good opposition team.

They conceded two more goals in the second period, and as Billy Hilton said, the Christmas festivities seemed to have weighed heavy on the Hooley side.

They remain seventh in the table, but have played more games than teams below them and better is needed if they are to stay in Division Three of the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur League.
