Jimmies Grab First Point Of Season

September 3, 2012

BY DENNIS BOOTH: Heywood St James 1st XI grabbed their first point of the season on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at home to Wythenshawe.

Simon Carney’s late equaliser was well deserved by Jimmies, who were trailing to a first-half strike from the visitors.

There was plenty of action at both ends and Jimmes were left ruing the many chances they failed to take.

The second XI have failed to build on a good start to the season.

They won their first game 6-1 at Atherton Town, but since fell to heavy defeats at Hollinwood and at Irlam Steel.

To compound the misery, they travelled with just 10 players to Irlam.
