The Duke drew 2-2 with Wardleworth in the cup last week. In awful conditions at Heywood Leisure Centre, there was never any chance of much football being played but both sides stuck to the task well and there were few bad tackles in the mud. Duke’s goals came from Dave Kilcourse and Andy Mullen. Tomorrow they travel to Highfield.

Duke Of Wellington strolled to their fifth successive league victory with a 6-1 demolition of a poor Turks Head side at Heywood Leisure Centre. Blake Roberts was a hat-trick hero for Duke, who were 5-0 ahead at half-time in a mismatch of an encounter. Two own goals and a goal from Andy Mullen wrapped up victory, and the only cloud on an otherwise bright day for Duke was when sloppy defending let the visitors in for their only goal, much to the annoyance of keeper Mikey Grogan. Duke Of Wellington dug deep into their reserves to claim a deserved 1-0 victory over Whitworth Wanderers at Heywood Leisure Centre on Sunday. The winning goal came from the cultured boot of Alan ‘The Boulder’ Horan, with an early penalty. Kilcourse and Hutchinson Inspire Duke To Salem Victory

Second-half goals from Dave Kilcourse and Steve Hutchinson helped Duke of Wellington to a comfortable 2-0 defeat of AFC Salem in their FJ Williams Cup clash at Heywood Leisure Centre on Sunday. The conditions can’t have been any more different to the previous day, although the heavy conditions made good football difficult.
